Botox® Cosmetic is a popular choice for wrinkle treatment at Steele Aesthetics. Botox® injections are used to temporarily paralyze the muscles under the skin that cause facial wrinkles, especially frown lines between the eyebrows and on the forehead. Botox® wrinkle treatment can help you look younger and more relaxed without surgery.

The wrinkle-reducing effects of Botox® injections are not permanent. Although results vary, they typically last for three to four months, and can be repeated as necessary. Botox® is injected into the muscles under the skin with thin needles, preventing nerve signals from commanding the muscle to contract. The injection process only takes about ten minutes, and we use vibration anesthesia for maximum comfort.

Dysport vs. Botox

Waylon Steele, at Steele Aesthetics, uses both Botox and Dysport. Waylon has been using Botox for over fifteen years and is overly pleased with the results. Now he has incorporated Dysport into his practice.Both Dysport and Botox are derived from botulinum toxin Type A, both are used to relax muscles, have gradual onset and both have been used for years. Both Dysport and Botox are approved by the FDA for cosmetic uses in the glabellar frown lines (also known as the 11’s) and can be used in other parts of the face and body.

There is a quicker onset of action with Dysport. Onset is seen as early as 2 to 3 days vs 4 to 7 days with Botox. The duration of treatment is relatively the same. Botox has more name recognition in the United States where Dysport has more name recognition in Europe. Good that you now have a choice. Waylon feels confident that both products do a great job.
